My Filthy Rich Writer Review

The Comprehensive Copywriting Academy/Filthy Rich Writer course changed the trajectory of my career, and I couldn't be happier about it. My original plan was to go into ghostwriting as a side business, so I started looking around for courses and came across an invitation by Nicki Krawczyk to watch a video about copywriting careers. It was so engaging and invigorating that I wanted to learn more.

When I began hearing about how copywriters can make six figures (I never knew!) and thinking about how much I really like to write, I thought, “Wow, that’s not too far from what I already do. I have the skills; I just need to learn the structure.” Well, that’s exactly what the course covers. But not just that. There is a TON of information—not only about how to be a copywriter, but how to build your business, price your work, create invoices, build a website, pitch to clients, partner with designers, and the list just goes on and on. 

Of course, I had to do my due diligence and research multiple reviews and compare with other copywriting courses. This one stood out for me initially by the sheer volume of material, and then in terms of having a high ROI probability. I wasn't wrong.

The course material is so incredibly comprehensive (like the name says…) that it can be somewhat overwhelming. Fortunately, the course is organized in a step-by-step format, so I could break it down into smaller pieces and work at my own pace. I am constantly going back to review sections of the course when I need a refresher on a particular subject. I like that there is no pressure to meet a deadline, and if I want to spend more (or less) time on a topic, I can. 

An invaluable perk of being a member of CCA/Filthy Rich Writer is the student Facebook group. Peers are quick to provide expert feedback and encouragement whenever needed, and knowledge is liberally shared. Being part of this writing community has motivated me, built confidence, and kept me from feeling alone in new territory. Plus, the moderators make sure to keep conversations professional and positive (and polite), so there is no mean-spirited or off-topic threads to hinder the academic objective. This is a genuinely nice, helpful group of students and coaches.

Did I mention the access to  Facebook Lives and Podcast material? If you’re like me, once I get excited about something, I just can’t get enough. There are so many helpful tips and tricks of the trade covered in these spirited presentations and interviews. I still learn new things every time I watch. Whether your goal is to turn a side-hustle into a full-time freelancing career, or parlay this wealth of information into an on-staff position as a copywriter at a firm, this course helps you do it. It really covers ALL the bases.

If you follow the steps and do the work, you can be as successful as you want to be. The CCA method guides you to a very satisfying career that is completely within your control. At any rate, taking this course has empowered me to believe in myself.

I'm personally still working toward being a full-time freelancer (transitioning from an 8-5), but this new set of skills has allowed me to dream big. I have been able to nicely supplement my income, which was my original goal. I joined this course in September 2021, and made the choice to ramp up slowly. The great thing is that everyone has different goals and gets to accelerate at whatever rate feels comfortable. (I will update this review as my situation evolves. Stay tuned!)
